Quick Start Guide

This guide will walk you through defining a proxy and adding a rule for an application. You'll need to know the proxy server address beforehand. If you're on a corporate network, you may require a more advanced setup. In that case, please consult your network administrator.

  1. Download and install NetDetour.
  2. Open NetDetour by double-clicking the system tray icon. NetDetour system tray icon

    Tip

    The NetDetour taskbar icon is hidden by default, but you can drag it to the visible icons list.

  3. Click Proxifying Settings in the toolbar. Click Proxifying Settings
  4. Select the proxy type from the dropdown and click Add. Select proxy type
  5. Enter a desired proxy name, and provide the host and port information you have. If authentication is required, check the box and enter your credentials. Click OK. Enter proxy server information
  6. Go to the Rules tab, then click Quick Add Program. Define rule
  7. Select the application's executable and click Open. Select program
  8. Click OK in the Proxifying Settings dialog to save your changes. Save changes
